If you are using SuSE, I don't understand why you are not using rpms -- all the hard work of configuring is done for you. I am running SuSE 10.1 with no problems. Note, as I believe it is documented in the manual, you are going to need a few development libraries. Also, we have never tested wxWidgets version 2.7.
