basically, you build a script that does the operation
you experience problems with.
then you run it on a working version of bacula, and
then on the cvs version that shows the regression.

i have come across bacula's regression tests, you can
get them this way:
cvs
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/bacula
login
cvs -z3
-d:pserver:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/cvsroot/bacula
co -P regress
