I use an auto changer and four pools of tapes for my backups; Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Scratch. I want to set the option "Maximum Volumes = 32" for my Weekly pool because my Weekly backup uses four tapes and I want to keep eight weeks worth of tapes in my rotation. My Weekly pool grew to 40 tapes and now I'm trying to reduce the pool to 32 tapes.
But what happens if I fill my auto changer with four Weekly tapes, four Daily tapes, and two Scratch tapes and Bacula wants a fifth Weekly tape because one of the Weekly tapes filled up or prompts a write error? If the Weekly pool already has 32 tapes, I predict Bacula won't add a Scratch tape to the Weekly pool because then the Weekly pool would have 33 tapes, thus exceeding the "Maximum Volumes = 32" option. What is the best way to keep my Weekly pool from growing too large? Thanks, Dave ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Tomcat but need to do more?
