I was - and it's working well. The only problems encountered recently were due to a bad sector in the spool area (raid striping for speed) that manifested as infinite hangs waiting for the tape drives. (I spent quite a while chasing the wrong fault.) One gotcha on the static bacula-fd: Bacula-fd-static compiled on a linux 2.6 kernel will not operate on 2.2/2.4 kernels and vice versa.
