That looks like something I found a while ago, and is fixed in 1.39.29. 
Kern diagnosed it as a mutex problem in the SDs reservation system, or 
something.

I was patient enough to wait for more than 20 hours ;-)

I guess you'll end up restarting the SD anyway... and perhaps replacing 
the whole server side with 1.39.29 which works reliable here.

Admittedly on another scale than what you run, but I'm using a setup 
where multiple jobs run and tape changes are required - partly to 
stress-test Bacula - and that particular error is gone since 1.39.29.

If you manage to shutdown the SD and launch a new instance fast enough 
you won't lose many queued jobs...
