Yes, this is correct. There are two or three developers I have worked with, and the OSST driver developer (Willem) was one of them. It took us quite a lot of going back and forth to make it work, but he was very determined and succeeded. > > Your best bet really is to get the driver developers involved. I've thought about this (IDE/ATA/SATA tape drivers) and will do my best to put a bit of pression on the kernel contacts I know to try to resolve some (all) of these issues. In the mean time, if anyone has an SATA tape drive, please consider sending it to me. I cannot even think of working on this, other than pointing developers to the correct documentation, without a tape drive on hand so that I can pinpoint the problems for the developers.
