Just something you schedule so it can trigger things.

Things could be scripts, or catalog pruning actions mainly.

The manual is too long already ;-)

Seriously: The manual does need lots of work, but unless some gifted 
technical writer with much too much time turns up, it's mainly Kern 
who's writing it, and while he probably is a good developer, programmer 
and manager he isn't one of the best writers I know. No offense intended...

I work around that by using ssh, for example. Admitedly, that's one more 
service to manage, but it does work.
