Additional info below, but today the backup worked correctly (at least it worked, haven't checked that my test files got backed up but bconsole on the Linux machine reports 3 files backed up from the Windows machine)?!?! I've changed nothing although both machines have been rebooted. With luck it will continue to work, but I'll bear in mind your suggestions below for debugging.
Interestingly wxconsole still did not connect - I had the wrong password, so this would not have connected yesterday, but the backup should have worked. Thanks for your help and ideas as it gives me somewhere to start if I get a further problem. On Fri, 11 May 2007 23:20:05 +0200, you wrote: > >Good... so we can assume the FD is actually running. No, both machines on fixed IP. The Linux machine has a hosts file defining the local IP addresses and Windows manages to work it out for itself. > >Configuration: >- Have you checked that the configuration file wx-console uses? The error was that wx-console would not connect when it did before AND that the backup failed. > >When you run bconsole on the server, can you connect to the client using >a command like 'sta client=office-fd'?
