Read the file <bacula src dir>/platforms/freebsd/pthreads-fix.txt. In this file it tells you about a patch that needs to be applied to the pthread library. I just went thru this on a FreeBSD 4.8 system. I can't upgrade to anything other then 4.x, I have 3 stripped vinum logical volumes and they aren't supported in newer releases.
