Here are some tips:

Enable spooling. Run your non wireless jobs concurrently. Update
bacula to the latest 2.1.X beta. Upgrade your database to MySQL or
postgres. Make sure your database is properly indexed. Make sure your
filesystems are not highly fragmented. Also check the cpu usage of
your servers during a backup to make sure you have a fast enough
system to handle the data.
