I use bacula 1.38.5 with tape storage devices without spooling enabled. It
sometimes happens that a back-up job fails due to for example loss of
connection. The tape volume is then flagged in error and the next job will
select another volume and request a tape mount after which the following
back-up
jobs may complete sucessfully.

The problem now is not so much the missing back-up, it may be run after
correcting the problem which caused the job to end abnormally. The problem is
with the error flagged tape, because all the previous back-ups on the tape are
useless.

What is the recommended action to take in such a situation? I would think that
a
roll back to the point of the tape volume at which it was before the faulty job
started should be possible. Any comments to this idea?
