Hi! I have an autochanger with 8 slots and only 1 drive.
I want to outhouse all tapes on a weekly basis. What is the best practice to do such? Each weekend the database should be pruned to start the necessary full backup with an empty database. The incremental backups should rotate on tape 1 - 6. Tape 7 should be used for the backup of the catalog. while tape 8 should be the cleaning tape. I guess I have to shut down the storage daemon to be able to replace the magazin. Is it also necessary to restart the director? How can I achieve that the library gives the magazin free without going in error after restarting the storage daemon (today I really need to power off server and library to get them working again). Also, how an I achieve to make a cleaning run before the full backup?
