TLS isn't totally necessary. If you restrict your firewall on the open
ports to the specific IP or hostname, that should almost be enough.
The only time you'd want to incorporate TLS if is the data being
backed up and streamed is secure data, like sensitive data you can't
or don't want anyone to be able to see.
