Hi everybody, I am trying to set up bacula (ver. 1.38.11-7ubuntu6) on a Dell Poweredge (ubuntu 7.04), using a Powerloader (Overland Storage) tape library.
I am following the "Testing Your Tape Drive With Bacula" chapter from the Bacula manual. btape test is running smoothly, including the autochanger test: === Autochanger test === 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded" command. Slot 2 loaded. I am going to unload it. 3302 Issuing autochanger "unload 2 0" command. unload status=OK 0 3303 Issuing autochanger "load 1 0" command. 3303 Autochanger "load 1 0" status is OK. 05-nov 08:35 btape: 3301 Issuing autochanger "loaded drive 0" command. 05-nov 08:35 btape: 3302 Autochanger "loaded drive 0", result is Slot 1. btape: btape.c:338 open device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0): OK btape: btape.c:1206 Rewound "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0) btape: btape.c:1213 Wrote EOF to "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0) The test autochanger worked!! However, the btape fill command fails to change the tape: 30-oct 11:45 btape: End of Volume "TestVolume1" at 591:7097 on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0). Write of 64512 bytes got -1. 30-oct 11:45 btape: Re-read of last block succeeded. btape: btape.c:2301 Last block at: 591:7096 this_dev_block_num=7097 btape: btape.c:2335 End of tape 591:0. VolumeCapacity=406,882,407,280. Write rate = 52487,4 KB/s 30-oct 11:45 btape: End of medium on Volume "TestVolume1" Bytes=406,882,407,280 Blocks=6,307,082 at 30-oct-2007 11:45. 30-oct 11:46 btape: Invalid slot=0 defined, cannot autoload Volume. Mount blank Volume on device "Drive-1" (/dev/nst0) and press return when ready: I can load the next tape manually with mtx,and resume the fill test. What can I do to make this test work properly?
