The scenario is the following: Bacula is ver 2.2.8 on Linux Fedora 7. System is booted without tape cartridge loaded and Bacula starts normally. Output from Status command:
Device status: Device "FileBackup" (/dataspace/bacula-backups) is not open. Device "Tape" (/dev/nst0) is not open. ==== In Use Volume status: ==== ==== Then a tape cartridge is loaded and the mount command is issued after which the console hangs. A command line "mt eject" successfully ejects the tape and the hang situation ends. On the bwc-console is displayed: #mount Tape3901 open device failed: ERR=dev.c:433 Unable to open device "Tape" (/dev/nst0): ERR=No medium found I then load the tape and issue the mount command again and now it's successfully mounted: ###########mount Tape 3001 Mounted Volume: EPOL001 3001 Device "Tape" (/dev/nst0) is already mounted with Volume "EPOL001" What is this? Is it a bug or maybe a wrong configuration? -- Erik. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
