I have a bit of a poltergeist here. I have configured 12 hour max volume
use duration:
Pool {
Name = Semanal
Pool Type = Backup
Recycle = yes
AutoPrune = yes
Volume Retention = 25 days
Volume Use Duration = 12h
}
Last weekend the backups failed because all volumes were used, and in
the log i found this:
2009-02-21 22:00:02 JobId 1645: Max configured use duration exceeded.
Marking Volume "000002L3" as Used.
2009-02-21 22:00:02 JobId 1645: Using Device "PowerVaultDr1"
2009-02-21 22:00:02 JobId 1645: 3307 Issuing autochanger "unload slot 2,
drive 0" command.
2009-02-21 22:01:00 JobId 1645: 3304 Issuing autochanger "load slot 3,
drive 0" command.
2009-02-21 22:01:49 JobId 1645: 3305 Autochanger "load slot 3, drive 0",
status is OK.
2009-02-21 22:01:51 JobId 1645: Recycled volume "000003L3" on device
"PowerVaultDr1" (/dev/nst0), all previous data lost.
2009-02-21 22:01:51 JobId 1645: Max configured use duration exceeded.
Marking Volume "000003L3" as Used.
2009-02-21 22:01:52 JobId 1645: Job write elapsed time = 00:00:01,
Transfer rate = 53.91 M bytes/second
Seems a minute after recycling 00003L3, it marks it as used!
This is on Bacula 2.4.4 linux compiled from source
Cheking the volume use duration of 00003L3 gives:
Enter MediaId or Volume name: 5
Updating Volume "000003L3"
Current use duration is: 12 hours
Enter Volume Use Duration:
That day Bacula used all the volumes, at random use duration times.
Looking "Last Written" i have:
000003L3 2009-02-21 22:01:54
000004L3 2009-02-21 22:11:17
000001L3 2009-02-21 22:30:43
000005L3 2009-02-21 22:35:06
Any idea?
I'll update all the volumes against the pool, purge, and see if this
happens again...
