Hello,
I am running bacula release 2.2.7 on Debian (Etch distribution 4.1.2-24)
using a sony tape drive and I am having some problems recycling my volumes.
I have read through the manual a number of times and searched the email
archive, but it looks like I might be the first to experience this
particular problem.
In the director configuration file I have specified the pool definition as
the following:
# Default pool definition
Pool {
Name = Default
Pool Type = Backup
Recycle = yes
AutoPrune = yes
Volume Retention = 365 days
}
Bacula has failed to execute any new jobs, because the volume it wants to
use is marked "Error". It seems that Bacula will not automatically recycle
the volume because its retention period has not expired. Therefore, I tried
to manually recycle the volume marked in error (following the instructions
in the manual), but received the following message:
"0 Files on Volume "June08-02" purged from catalog." And then when I list
volumes the offending volume is still marked "error". Is there way to
recycle a volume that has been marked "error"?
Below is a shortened version of the volumes in my pool:
The media 1-41 are all full of data. Starting with media ID 42 and running
to ID 48, I want to continue running jobs on. These volumes were added to
the pool more recently than those that have data and therefore the "Recycle
Oldest Volume =Yes" option in the director configuration will not enforce
the correct recycling of media.
Any ideas?
I appreciate any help and/or insight.
