> Okay, so then here is the run of events as I understand them: > > 1. issue restore command > 2. get prompted for needed volumes
Bacula will discover that the needed volume (not volumes) is not in the changer then it will block and prompt you (in the messages even by email if you have that set up) to insert the volume. It will also unload whatever volume is in the drive that it selected. You insert the volume. > 3. insert first needed volume in mailslot Then wait till the changer has finished inventory. > 4. issue update slots > 5. Bacula ejects current appendable volume from drive No. Bacula will probably remain blocked. This is fixed by issuing the mount command inside the bacula console. > 6. Bacula loads needed volume and reads > 7. Bacula ejects first volume and returns it to mailslot Bacula will put the tape back in the mailslot, then prompt for the next volume. Just repeat what you did above .. > 8. remove first volume and insert second volume > 9. issue update slots > 10. Bacula retrieves second volume from mailslot and reads > 11. Bacula returns second volume to mailslot > 12. Remove second volume from mailslot > 13. Issue update slots to inform Bacula that mailslot is empty > > Is this correct then? > I added my comments..
