Maybe you have some sparse files? You could check this by looking for large files using something like this: sudo find /home /etc /root /var/log/squid3 /var/log/dansguardian /var/spool/cron -xdev -size +2000000 -ls You could also do this in bconsole to see which files are in the Incremental backup and check their sizes: list files jobid=13246 I assume one of those files is sparse.
