If it was a HP drive you'd run HP Library & Tape Tools to verify the
drive. Maybe Quantum have a similar tool.

Check the firmware level on the drive, just to make sure it's the latest
(Quantum would probably ask you to do this anyway). Unlikely to be a
problem though.

Check the cabling and connections. You don't say if its SAS or SCSI, but
if it's SCSI you can easily bend or break pins on those 68 pin
connectors.
