Hi ! Not quite sure if that helps, but we are running a similar library that identifies as 3573-TL but looks the same. We just connected it to the server (to SAS-HBA) and were able to use it with /dev/sg0 and /dev/nst0 & nst1 on a RHEL5.6 which should be quite similar to Centos 5.6. Just try a "mtx inquiry" with the library connected and maybe create a link for /dev/changer.
