If you just want to teach how to configure use fixed IP addresses, if you
want to include troubleshooting, then allow them to be changed, I have also
found that giving people two minutes to non destructively break each others
configs can be good for troubleshooting as well.
Having snapshots that can be easily rolled back can be an overall
timesaver,
