If you have a more efficient way of doing it, like netapp snapmirror or
zfs incremental send or possibly btsync, yes. Otherwise it's probably
not worth the trouble.

Make sure it doesn't time out in the middle of a backup. I.e. if it's an
automagic on-demand sort of thing you may need a keepalive option of
some sort.
