My current approach has one Media Typ per storage daemeon. Since I have
only one SD there is currently just the one Media Typ. (OT: I'm
evaluating Bacula at home to see if it would fit company requirements)
Do you have the same Media Type for all devices? You need to make the Media
Type unique for each device if the volumes are in different directories. The
Media Type specified in the Director's Storage resource, must correspond to
the Media Type specified in the Device resource of the Storage daemon
configuration file.
That makes absolutely sense. I will try it next weekend at the latest
and report back ... if by then I can post to the list again.
Note that changing the Media Type in a device will not automatically change
the existing volumes. The safest way is to create new volumes (but you can
also hack it using SQL).
As this is no production instance I have no problem with purging
everything... but I will probably tinker with the database first :-)
