Hello Jerry,

The message says that it could not "open" the state file.  This is normal if the state file does not exist, which is always the case in a fresh install.

This is not an error, but a debug message that can be ignored.

Best regards,
Kern

Hi,

I had to rebuild the domain a couple weeks ago. Everything works for Bacula except for two systems.  One is a log server and the other is my work station.  Both are getting the same errors. I am not sure why because all of the other systems in the domain are being backed up without any problems.
I have changed nothing in the configuration of Bacula for any of the systems. Most started working after the domain was rebuilt.

I have started the FD on the client from the command prompt with the following:
bacula-fd -d 200

which gives me a trace file with this output:
vigo-fd: filed/fd_plugins.c:943-0 plugin dir is NULL
vigo-fd: filed/filed.c:276-0 filed: listening on port 9102
vigo-fd: lib/bnet_server.c:112-0 Addresses host[ipv4:0.0.0.0:9102]
bacula-fd: filed/filed_conf.c:452-0 Inserting director res: vigo-mon
vigo-fd: lib/bsys.c:510-0 Could not open state file. sfd=-1 size=192: ERR=No such file or directory

The working directory is there with the same permissions as before. What would be causing the state file from not being created?  If I change the debug to a higher number will that give me more information ( I am assuming it will), I have not tried that yet.

pondering,

jerry
