That's my best guess too, I'm just at a loss to figure out what, because
it's no doing of mine and the previous OEL7.6 iteration did not do it.

It may be a behavioral change in the VPN tool, something called Appgate,
which frankly seems to be to be a loose cannon that breaks all kinds of
things and then doesn't put them back.
