This may be out of order and off topic, but I urge to suggest moving to postgresql with bacula. Much better. No more lock issues and timeouts and it just works out of the box. No need for any mysqltuner, while you certainly can tune postgresql as well as mysql/mariadb. I do not use mariadb for anything nowadays, unless forced by some technicality like software requirement.
