Hello Don, If you have correctly configured the tape library with the tape drives, Bacula should be able to automatically load/unload labeled tapes.
You need to label the tapes before using them for backup jobs. The bconsole command to label tapes using barcodes: * label barcodes You can check if you have tapes already labeled: * status slots Also, you will probably need to run btape tests before you put it in production. It will confirm if the tape devices are correctly configured. * /opt/bacula/bin/btape You may find information about how to use btape (most important tests are "test", "fill" and "speed") in the bacula documentation.
