All,

Are there any users here who use Bacula to backup the data from their
Android smartphones and or tablets? As far I know there is no file
daemon for Android for Bacula community. I found something that it is
available for Bacula Enterprise, but for my use that would be overkill,
and I don't think that it will be released to Bacula community soon.

Have other people performed a workaround or do they thrust on the auto
backup to Google drive etc?

I'd love to hear your ideas.

To the best of my knowledge, there exists no tool for obtaining a complete backup of an Android device that does not require rooting the device first. If such a tool exists that I don't know about, I'd also be interested to hear. Google's own backup is not 100% complete; it doesn't appear to back up Nova Launcher desktop settings for example.
