Hello,

I run bacula 9.6 on a xen server with pci passthroug fcal lto-6 drive in a
changer.
The raw write speed is more than 150 MB/s and with btape speed test more than
120 MB/s.
The read write and read speed from and to tmpfs for the spool files ist some
GB/s.
Mostly only the spooling speed is normally round about 20 MB/s to 60 MB/s which
is not really an big issue for me.

Although all is running well it could be a little bit better.

Only the spooling and despooling could be better because spooling ist mostly
much slower than despooling.

To run concurent spooling I must allow in the drive section
maximum concurrent job >= 2 so spooling will start with more than one job.

To prevent the despooling a little in interleave mode to the drive
(same despooling of more than one job) I use a Max Job Spool Size of 8 GB
and a Max Spool Size of 12 GB (to prevent the usage of the whole tmpfs).

Because of spooling speed is different from all the jobs and despooling
is much faster mostly the despooling ist mostly single.

By the way sometimes the despooling of concurent jobs will occur so
the despooling then looks like more parallel than serial.

But is it not possible to prevent the parallel spooling to the device
anyway by serialising the despooling instead of parallel the
despooling to the device?

Cheers
