Hello,

it is possible to create a copy with bcopy given only the bscan -b flag
to a new volume.
The bscan was working and the job and the volume has to been created
in the database.

With the restore command it was possible to add the database
backup file but then the done command was been aborted:

Select item: (1-13): 3
Enter JobId(s), comma separated, to restore: 84792
You have selected the following JobId: 84792

Building directory tree for JobId(s) 84792 ...
1 files inserted into the tree.

You are now entering file selection mode where you add (mark) and
remove (unmark) files to be restored. No files are initially added, unless
you used the "all" keyword on the command line.
Enter "done" to leave this mode.

cwd is: /
$ add *
2 files marked.
done
Unable to get Job Volume Parameters. ERR=sql_get.c:429 No volumes found for
JobId=84792

Unable to construct a valid BSR. Cannot continue.

It looks like the bscan has not fully inserted the needed links
between the job and the media.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Hello,

because of an update failure I recovered the latest catalog backup
from a stored file.
But I know because of the latest bsr file in baculas home it exitst
a newer one which I can check with bls -b bsrfile which is at the
end of an larger disk volume.

I don't want to use bscan to update the database with the complete
volume, only the last one.

But using the bsr file with bscan makes trouble so the job is
not inserted because it looks like it does not recognise of its
volumename.

/usr/sbin/bscan -b BackupCatalog.bsr -s -r -m /media/baculadisk1 -V DISK035

So for the moment I try to update the catalog without using -b
BackupCatalog.bsr.

Any Idea how to update the catalog using the from backup job created bsr file?

Cheers
Pierre
