[Note: The following message from 2004 Libertarian
Party presidential candidate Michael Badnarik went out
several days ago to a small group -- it's reproduced
here for a broader libertarian audience]

If you're receiving this email, you probably already
know Stephen VanDyke and Stephen Gordon. Even if you
don't know you know them by name, you know their work.
"The two Steves" have been blazing new trails in
Internet promotion of libertarian ideas and candidates
for some time now. You may read their blog, Hammer of
Truth (www.hammeroftruth.com), or you may have seen
their work on my presidential campaign web site in
2004. You may have seen Stephen Gordon's work covered
in a host of publications -- ranging from the
mainstream sources like the Washington Times and Wall
Street Journal to trade-related publications like
C-Net and MediaDailyNews. You may have read Stephen
VanDyke's articles in WatchBlog or read about him in
New York Magazine. Both Stephens have been covered
individually by Slate as well as Columbia Journalism
Review. A funny thing happens when the "two Stephens"
get together ... less "Stephen Plus Stephen," more
like "Stephen Squared."

Hammer of Truth continues to experience explosive
growth, serving 15,000 page views per day in the first
week of January. At the current rate, more than 5
million people would read HoT's libertarian message
this year, if traffic wasn't growing ... but it is.
Fast. If HoT was a stock, analysts would be pushing it
and brokers would be spraining their fingers entering
"buy" orders.

The down side is that at despite the site's current
rate of growth, we'll be well into the 2008 election
season before "the two Stephens" will be in position
to exert significant influence on that election's
results.

The up side is that, with your help, that process can
be greatly accelerated. They want to get the word --
and the meaning of -- "libertarian" in front of a LOT
more readers, a lot more quickly, and give you the
opportunity to get directly involved in lighting the
fires of liberty.

Here's a bullet-point summary of their new project:

* A new Internet presence with the weight required to
change the results of some elections in 2006 and many
in 2008

* Specialized coding to create a new libertarian
Internet community which leverages the content of many
existing sites AND makes it easy for newcomers to dive
right into the work of persuasion instead of "building
it and waiting for them to come"

* An emphasis on market penetration for the word
"libertarian," and a real understanding of what it
means for millions of Americans who now have only a
vague recollection of having heard of us and no
understanding of what we stand for

* Utilization of some of the best technological
gimmicks the 'net has to offer, all on one site

* Creation of a new "media tool" from which all
libertarians can benefit

* Enhanced coordination with significant Internet
presences like Yahoo!'s Upcoming.Org, Google News,
Flickr and Technorati

* Significantly increased exposure for libertarian
candidates in higher-level elections

* Local/National citizen journalism with a libertarian
slant using a customized portal/meritocracy publishing
behavior similar to Newsgrounds.Com and DailyKos.Com

* Promotion of the best libertarian opinion and
commentary on Google News and elsewhere, 24/7 to bring
libertarianism to a wider audience.

* Compensating authors in a manner that reflects real
market response -- visitor traffic and advertising
levels -- to ensure and improve the
quality of libertarian media

While this new venture will be an offshoot of Hammer
of Truth, it will also be heavily promoted by
recognized leaders in the field of such promotions and
through meritocracy and automated selection, will tie
directly  back into what is published on Hammer of
Truth.

While they're coordinating some technical features
already in existence, Stephen^2 are planning to blaze
new technical trails as well. This isn't playing
catch-up -- it's a leap forward. And leaps forward
cost money. Fortunately, the amount isn't very large
by venture capital standards, and Stephen^2 believe
that libertarians are willing to "invest in victory"
-- when the people they're supporting have a track
record of producing  results, and actually offer them
something for their money.

I should mention that this is not a typical "mass
mailing." It's going out to select group of
libertarian activists whom Stephen^2 believe will be
interested, supportive -- and discerning. They are
offering "charter memberships" in the new site:
"Upgraded" accounts for life. Ad-free content, your
own personalized subdomain blog, and a number of other
features that they're not revealing yet (yes,
significant portions of the business  plan are still
"Top Secret Eyes-Only" ... which is one reason why I
wouldn't endorse this project if I didn't know these
guys and their track record).

Stephen^2 are taking considerable personal risks on a
financial, time and reputation level for this
yet-to-be-announced (except to you) project, but it's
going to take some seed money to get it off the
ground. Your $25 "charter membership" will do double
duty. It will allow them to produce the goodies, and
it will allow you to consume them at a "preferred"
level  of access. You're receiving this because you
know their professional acumen, their record of
delivering results and their dedication to moving the
libertarian movement ahead of its competition. Freedom
is never free, but $25 is pretty darn cheap. Simply

take the fight for freedom into new territory as an
author of the next chapter in our movement's march to
victory.

Lighting the fires of Liberty, with a little help from
our friends,
