for Congress. As this is the 1st time I write to these lists, I wanted
to give you all an update of how things are going. Hopefully you have
not been living in a cave and not going to our official website and
blog. But I will act as though you are out of the loop and attempt to
catch you up on what we feel is the best shot a Libertarian in TX has
ever had at winning a seat in Congress!
We have received over $400,000 from people in all 50 states. That is
actually about 8 times as much as the Democrat in the race. We've
received over $1600 in the last month from college kids alone via a
facebook and myspace group called "$10 for Liberty!" -

The original facebook group was conceived and started by a 20-year old
supporter in Georgia!
In addition, we have handed out 30,000 brochures and 10,000 bumper
stickers at various events over the last 13 months. We also have 3
billboards in 3 different cities while our opponents have none. These
facts, coupled with Michael's name recognition in TX from running for
President in 2004 and State Rep in 2000 and 2002, represent an amazing
situation for our campaign.
And you can't forget the angry electorate. For months now, a consistent
60% or so have been saying they are ready to vote for "someone new".
There was an unscientific Internet poll that ran on CNN.com at the end
of September. 96% were not satisfied with Congress!! One can only
assume that it's even worse because of the Mark Foley headlines that
have come out since then. Integrity is a big issue this year because of
scandal after scandal. You and I know perfectly well that integrity is
one of Michael's strongest suits. But how can the voters know this for
sure? They don't know him as well as you and I.
That's where Michael's legally binding contract with the voters comes
in. If you haven't already read it, I invite you to at

contract with the voters of Texas congressional district 10 which will
protect the interest of the voters and the integrity of the office by
stripping him of his eligibility to run for re-election if he violates
the terms & conditions of that contract. This is the closest thing to a
guarantee of integrity that we've ever seen or heard of. The response
has been extremely enthusiastic and has gained us some large media
attention. In Austin, Michael talked about it on the Dudley & Bob show,
Austin's most successful morning radio show. Just this past weekend, he
was on the nationally syndicated Free Talk Live, talking about it for

I mentioned the billboards that have been up since April that our
opponents don't have but there's also 2 other wild cards that could
really make the difference. Allen Hacker, campaign manager, owns an RV
that we have decked out with two 21 foot banners. It is a sight to be
seen and we are about to take it on its maiden voyage. As the election
nears, we'll be driving this mobile billboard all over the district.
Trust me, its hard to miss!
Lastly, we have finally begun our smile brigades. Volunteers get
together at busy intersections to hold campaign signs during rush hour.
The larger signs say Badnarik for Congress and the smaller ones say
"Smile if you Love Liberty!" Everyone who sees this on the side of the
road can't help but smile. At that moment we have successfully
associated Badnarik's name to smiling, love, and liberty. It's
certainly a breath of fresh air in an era of such rampant negative
campaign tactics. If you live in or near the district and this sounds

I just realized that I forgot to mention the Republican incumbent. It's
easy to do. He has only showed up to one event we've been at. I can't
give it all away but 2 things we are hitting hard on are that he has
voted for spending $1.3 trillion tax dollars in the last 12 months.
Thus, we are the only fiscally conservative option in the race. The
other fatal mistake he made was voting against Ron Paul's amendment to
a House bill that would have defunded the National Animal
Identification System. This is a big deal in our district. Essentially
it puts control of the food supply in the hands of the federal
government. You know, because they are so good at everything they do.
The NAIS is mandatory premises registration and tagging or chipping of
all farm animals. Small farmers and ranchers do not get certain
exemptions corporate farms do. They have to report every significant
movement of every animal within 24 hours or face fines of up to $1000
per day!
