I just realized that yesterday Wednesday was the anniversary of the arrival of Baha'u'llah and some 70+ of His followers, relatives and family members in the desolate prison city penal colony of `Akka in the mid-afternoon of August 31st 1868 after a long and harrowing sea journey from Adrianople; one of His very erudite and devoted followers JenAb-e Munib, passed away during the journy in Smyrna. As Baha'u'llah and His followers were being led through the narrow streets of `Akka into their prison at the barracks that hot & humid afternoon, the inhabitants lined up to hurl insults and vituperations at Him. The first few days/weeks and months of His 26-month incarceration in the military barracks of `Akka were exceedingly hard and He later named it the Most Great Prison.
By coincidence the passing of the 7th Shi`ah Imam, Musa al-kAzim, according to the lunar Muslim calendar fell on August 31st 2005 this year.
