Hi, folks, I just managed to get through to Susan Maneck on the phone.
She and her son are fine. (They are a couple of hours north of the northern Gulf Coast.) Their house is basically okay, but their block was apparently one of the most devastated in Jackson, Mississippi. However, they have no power, and they most likely won't get it back until sometime after Labor Day (Monday). There is also basically no gasoline (petrol) available. Having lived in Mississippi myself (for 4 years), I can tell you that the state is oppressively hot and humid this time of year. Therefore, Susan and her son are not at all comfortable, but they are otherwise in good shape. Susan has no idea when she may get Internet access again. Via moderna, Mark A.
