Dear Friends,
I have only been a member of this list for a short period, but in it I have seen much that makes the heart cry and destitude. We seem to have forgotten the real picture here...
.....religion must be the cause of unity, harmony and agreement among mankind. If it be the cause of discord and hostility, if it leads to separation and creates conflict, the absence of religion would be preferable in the world." --`Abdu'l-Baha, Baha'i World Faith, p. 247.
Forget the fact that Abbas Effendi said these words. Any person with an ounce of sense would agree. They are in truth a great reason for many people not to 'have a religion'.
Although mild in form, the conflicts seen on this and many other threads/forums only bring forth the validity of this statement. Let us all agree to disagree and wave to each other with sincerity as we pass each other on our path to perfection. God (if one believes in such a thing) is the only judge.
