ron,
i did not attribute the quotes to u. that would involve me saying "u said" or
something like it.
i attributed them to the set of persons offering views without what passes my
standards of qualification.
i caused their reiteration as an example of strawman argument.
i caused their reiteration as examples of meaningless statements, since they
lack statistical basis, provenance, or much of anything except the display of
an emotional response to an unstated.
   now, to deal:
 1. Writings re evolution: the "science" that the physical form of man has a
common ancestor with some primate---degree of genetic unity--supports likwewise
the idea that man has a common ancestor, further back, with a yew tree, which
has, if memory serves, a 60% or so match with human dna.
the idea that man >>is<< a physical form is disputed by the Master and
Guardian.
which means the issue is irrelevant.
    2. physics/aether. as i demonstrated with provenanced cites on this thread
or another,
modern physics is perfectly amenable to aether. this then is perhaps a matter
of educating "some Baha'is" about physics. and educating some materialists
about physics.
  now, back to point:
:"passages in the Writings, such as the two that I mention above," you haven;t
yet mentioned the Text or Guidance. u have iterated a personal interpretation
gained from...something..without attribution.
this woulds be a reiteration by you of the point i made above ab out the
heat/light ratio that occurs in the absence of actual Cite.
   :"if interpreted literally"
by whom?
we might have large areas of agreement about the disgusting habit of
assuming interpretations and elucidations by other than the WOB should have any
effect on anyone except the holder of said human fallacy.
that is a seperate issue. if u wanna go there, let's. that would be a
seperate thread.
:"Life is too short"-- actually i have it on Reliable Authority that it is
eternal.
ps, if "common norms" meant anything to me at all, i'd be looking into Jesus or
Muhammed as Sources for clear thinking.
