I think the fault is not so much in how God inspired the Bible, but in how it was changed through time by different scribes at different times.
As to the question you raise about the perfection of the Manifestations, I think you can find a direct answer in Some Answered Questions. In that book Abdu'l Baha explains that the apparent rebukes to the Prophets are indirect rebukes to the Prophet's followers rather than to the Prophet Himself.

Lot getting drunk and committing incest, David committing adultery and
murder, Solomon committing idolatry and murder, Jonah running away,
Moses committing murder) (peace be upon all the prophets).
Do Bahais say that the Bible was corrupted when it comes to these
accounts? (That's what many Muslims would do) Are there ways to
explain away the Biblical accounts?
Personally, I think the Bible goes a bit too far, but even in the
Quran some of the prophets recieve certain kinds of reprimands.
(David, Yunus) Someone even told me that Muhammad is given 3
reprimands in the Quran... although at the moment only two come to
mind.
