Gilberto: Could you specify how they are actually different? Is there some
specific element of Bahai teaching which isn't found in Christianity?
Or vice versa?
Hi Gilberto!

I think there are overlapping ideas, I would say parts of the concepts are found in Islam and others in Christianity, and you may find Christians and Muslims both agree to parts of it, and some may even agree to the whole thing from both Muslim and Christian traditions.  Please read the 7 points below and if you want let me know if you agree or disagree.

Baha'u'llah in the Gems of Divine Mysteries (and elsewhere like the Book of Certitude) makes the following points:

1. "...God... doth in no wise manifest His inmost Essence and Reality."
2. "[God is] veiled in the eternity of His Essence and concealed in the infinitude of His own Being."
3. "when [God] purposed to manifest His beauty... and to reveal His glory ... He brought forth His Prophets..."
4. "...[so that through God's Prophets, God's] name 'the Manifest' might be distinguished from 'the Hidden'
5. "[so that God's] name 'the Last' might be discerned from 'the First'
6. "[so that God may fulfill] the words: 'He is the First and the Last; the Seen and the Hidden; and He knoweth all things!' (Quran 57:3).
7. "...He revealed [His] names [and His] words in the Manifestations..."

Best regards,
hm
