The century the Book of Daniel was composed in is disputed. Generally, believers believe it was written in the sixth century BC, whereas non-believers believe it was written in the second century BC. It seems pretty obvious to me that the latter is correct. If others here agree on that I'm just interested to know how this sets well with you alongside the belief that Daniel was a Prophet. 'Abdu'l-Baha refers to periods beginning in 457 BC as prophecies. It seems hard to me to believe that Daniel was what Baha'is know as a Prophet. Regardless of when He wrote, why is His historical knowledge of the sixth century so poor if He is a Prophet? To believe in the earlier date one would have to regard Daniel as an apocalyptic work which did not follow the normal convention of prophesying a lot of stuff after the fact and being used as a tool to give faith to those in crisi!
