It was suggestive, since the setting of taxes is not a religious
matter, but a state matter. The Bahai Faith does not have a complete
economic programme, or a complete programme for government. It has
some relevant principles, such as "equality between individuals, and
perfect fellowship. Justice should be so perfect that the rights of
the human race are protected and assured and the rights of the public
are equal. This is one of the essential requirements of life in
society." and "the equalisation of the means of livelihood for all
humanity, to the extent that all are freed from poverty" (talk of 5
October 199, my translation at http://wp.me/pcgF5-1wd ). These have
economic and fiscal implications, but they do not prescribe one
particular system or tax as the Bahai system.

Happy are those who spend their days in gaining knowledge, in
discovering the secrets of nature, and in penetrating the subtleties
of
pure truth! Woe to those who are contented with ignorance, whose
hearts
are gladdened by thoughtless imitation, ... who have wasted their
lives!"(~Abdu'l-Baha, Some Answered Questions p.137)
