The Baha'i Studies Listserv A new section of one of my books:
One of the more significant, and perhaps most sociological, implications of the cosmic envelope is the "Principle of Co-presence." If, as Bhaskar asserts, we are all truly connected with one another, then the Marxian dialectic, or contradiction, of capitalist economic oppression, along with the resulting social alienation, is resolved through an existential non-duality. Meta-Reality becomes, perhaps, a trans-Marxism. The aspirations of the intellectual left are fulfilled, not abandoned, in the ground-state of unity: ... a unity-in-difference ... [is] co-presence .... Roy Bhaskar, "Unity of Theory and Practice, Interdisciplinarity, and Non-duality<http://www.markfoster.net/struc/unity_of_theory_practice.pdf>." Abstract (excerpt). Retrieved on January 7, 2012. [The emancipatory leap] ... relies on principles Bhaskar calls "co-presencing" or "transcendental identification." Bonnitta Roy, " Report from Critical Realism Integral Theory Symposium<http://integralpostmetaphysics.ning.com/forum/topics/report-from-critical-realism-integral-theory-symposium?page=3&commentId=5301756%3AComment%3A33335&x=1>." Integral Postmetaphysical Spirituality. The theory of co-presence allows us to also see the necessity for a commitment to a eudaimonistic [flourishing or emancipated] society and more generally to the project and state of universal self-realisation.
