Vaughan,
I must admit to not having come across this concept. Is it just a
question of relativity?

Sometime in the future the Baha'i Faith will enter its winter and only a
few will be able to see their way to the next springtime. Do we allow
fate to carry us to that or do we exert every spiritual muscle to
prevent it? What do we know or might we come to know to prevent it? And
how shall we come to know?

Dear Owen,

To my mind, spiritual winter denotes spiritual oppression and the
widespread disappearance of the love of God and human virtues.

Although I suppose there must be occasional periods of time during which
future Manifestations of God will be recognized initially by only a few
and initially will be opposed, I think the authoritative interpretations
of the Baha'i Writings indicate that one of the distinctions between the
present Day of God and previous Days is that spiritual winters will not
occur during the successive Dispensations which will occur within the
5,000 century Baha'i Cycle.

I think the unavoidable periods of uncertainty which will occur during
future Dawns will not necessarily be preceded by the spiritual winters
which have befallen previous Dispensations. Why then will future
Manifestation come? I suppose this will be because we will be ready for
the next step, for more education and for fine tuning of the revealed
Law of God.

Best regards,
--- Vaughn
