It doesn't hurt to post them. Usually they are sent out when someone
subscribes:

*List Guidelines*

1. Consultation, tolerance, and courtesy are encouraged.
All list members have a right to be treated respectfully,
regardless of their level of education or credentials.
Flaming, contention, slander, name-calling, vulgarity,
Baha'i "institution-bashing," and partisan political
discussion are strongly discouraged.

2. Please avoid posting messages which deprecate academic methodologies,
or other approaches to scholarship and Baha'i studies, which might differ
from your own. Criticisms should be issue specific and offer constructive
alternatives.

The purpose of this list is to promote scholarship, in
particular academic scholarship, on the Baha'i Faith.
Wholesale condemnations of standard academic methods
as materialistic, secularistic, or humanistic is detrimental
to that purpose. As such, we cannot allow them on this list,
Furthermore, we cannot permit character attacks on
scholars/academics, or on any others for that matter.

Those who sincerely feel that academic methods are contrary
to Baha'i Teachings or dislike the style of academic
scholars should seriously consider whether they wish to
participate in a list such as this. We welcome a dialogue
with non-academics on matters of scholarship and method,
and it is certainly legitimate to raise questions as to how
such methods might be reconciled with certain aspects of the
Teachings or the Covenant. However, we ask you to refrain
from the use of labels, accusatory tones, and ad hominem
remarks, as these tend to have a cooling effect on such
discourse.

3. It is preferable *not to quote extensively* from the
postings of others. Please quote only as much as is
*reasonably necessary* to respond to what someone
has written. We strongly discourage trailing the text
of the message you are responding to after your own
posting.

4. Please try to keep messages to the point. Chatty
messages, messages which would be more properly
sent to a single individual (rather than to the whole list),
small talk, simple "thank you," "I agree," or "me, too"
postings without additional substance, etc. are
discouraged.

5. As is pro forma on many email lists, we do not
allow messages with HTML formatting (sometimes
called "styled" text) and messages with attachments.

6. Posts which serve to undermine the authority of
Baha'i institutions will not be allowed.

7. Subscribers are requested to follow standard
netiquette, such as by not forwarding, without
the writer's explicit permission, private email to
this list or messages posted to Baha'i Studies
to other lists.
