I'm not sure I understand. The whole purpose of prayer beads is so you don't have to count, you just finger the beads. Or do you find that distracting too?

warmest, Susan

Hi Susan, I like the prayer beads because my wife made them for me, and they do look beautiful. I use them sometimes because of their special association, but yes, I do find them distracting too.

Actually, I find it very difficult to keep my mind focused on the text of a prayer,
or on the Allah'u'abha.....my mind is always wandering to some issue at
work, or to something in the house that needs repairing, or...or....etc.
Anything I can do to eliminate distractions helps, so I don't always use the beads,
or if I use them I just hold them and don't go from one bead to the next. In the
latter case, I just say the Greatest Name enough times so I'm sure of saying more than
95, but I don't actually count.
