When I was on pilgrimage I asked the guide if the Vatican had sent a response to the UHJ letter to religious leaders. He wasn't entirely sure the story was correct, but what he heard was that it was given to a Cardinal, who laughed when he saw what it was. This Cardinal was apparently canned shortly after this. Is this true? If so, do we know anything about the expulsion of this Cardinal? I think it's best to check these things before claiming Divine chastisement.

Any other interesting stories people would like to share regarding this letter? Where I live we got an interesting response from a Jehovah's Witness, when we called to ask the name of the head/leader of the church (so that we would know whom to address the letter to). His answer: Jesus Christ. We had to send the letter to the members collectively, as addressing the letter to J.C. wouldn't really work.

Regards,

David
