And, as I used to tell my Marriage and Family students, the hymen can be restored. However, I think that our views of sexual relations are presently colored by the prevalence of so much dishonesty surrounding the subject. People lie if they want others to think they have had sexual relations, when they are in fact virgins, and they lie if they want their partners to believe they have been faithful, when they have been cheating. While I presume that lying will never be entirely eliminated, it will hopefully be less common than it is now. Mark A.
