I was told much the same about 10 years ago by someone who had served
at the World Center. He also said that the regular agenda, plus
background and research on the individual items, often is a stack of
material a foot thick. Rarely do they get thru' all possible items on
the daily agenda. At the end of the day, a new stack is prepared for
the following day, and it is available for each member to study 'over
night'.

He also said that some issues are very contentious. When that
happens, the first resort is prayer. If that didn't help enough, then
it was tabled til the next meeting. He said he heard that it was not
unusual for a particular item to be tabled repetedly before a decision
was made. Sometimes, a decision had to be made, tho'. In this case,
the House of Justice would take a break to walk in the gardens and
pray at the Shrine of the Bab before returning to consultation.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to serve on the House of Justice.
