(Baha'u'llah: The Kitab-i-Aqdas, Page: 32)
I'm just wondering how exactly to explain the "send down one who will deal mercilessly" part of the passage. Who is referred to here? Should it just be taken as a reference to any unspecified emissary sent by God to punish the person, perhaps someone delegated from the Concourse on high? Or is this to be regarded as not being literal? Also, what would dealing mercilessly with a person involve? I suspect that several people claiming Revelations haven't been/won't become victims of foul plagues or any unusual misfortunes during their lifetimes, but I'm not sure that such would be necessarily required.
Regards, David
