Dearest Kazeh, I hope and pray that the day finds you well and happy. Thank you, your message did post to the list the first time; however, I was busy trying to finish up things so I could go visit my family for the Thanksgiving holiday, and my response has been delayed. Thank you for explaining that the word translated as signs from Sura 34--from Arabic--"Ayaat", is actually "verses". So I assume that it is from the context of Hour that the translator chose the word "signs"? Is there a separate word in Arabic that is indicative of "signs"? For example, is "ayaat" also used by Baha'u'llah and translated to "tokens" (if ESW was revealed in Arabic, I don't recall at the moment if Persian or Arabic was the original language of ESW)? Is there any other word in Arabic that translates more directly to "signs"? > Whether as you say <<<the that "sent down to thee from thy Lord" could be > applied to the signs indicated by the "Lord", Christ, and specifically to > the prophecy in Daniel he refers to when asked by his disciples about the > signs of the end of the age in Matthew 24:3 & 15.>>> one cannot say with > certainty. > In the sense that all Revelation is one Yes. But in the sense of specific > detail and tafsir we need to be open.... Yes, of course, there are probably many meanings [something like 72 :-)] to be found in this passage. > . . . . am happy to > be your co-learner I also am happy to be a co-learner on this list.
